Join us for any of these weekly rides led by shop staff. There is a ride for every level of rider. Meet at the shop (except for the Sunday Waffle Ride). Bring fluids and fuels, sunscreen, etc.
Helmets are required on all outdoor rides. All rides are at your own risk. The ride leaders are responsible for setting the pace and regrouping and can help with flats and other light mechanical issues. Please let the leader know if you plan to drop off or leave early, so they don't come looking for you.
Free spin class at the shop, Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm. Bring your bike, trainer, towel, and fluids, and come in time to set up and be ready for a 6:30 sharp start.
Once again, our spin classes will be led by Coach Muddy Waters. He will focus on cycling specific exercises to help you build your cycling skills, strength, and efficiency.
This is a great chance to get some expert cycling coaching from one of the preeminent triathlon coaches in the area. All levels welcome.
We have a few trainers available to borrow on a first-come-first-served basis. Make sure you come early to secure one if you need one. We also sell Cyclops trainers.
Beginning Aug 5, we have a new ride in the Saturday morning lineup: the Bravo ride! This is a no-drop, low-stress, slower paced, 25-28 mile ride around the south bay with a stop for coffee near the end. Meet Saturdays at the back door of the shop at 7:45 to roll at 8:00. All cyclists are welcome.
This is our marqee ride. Join us every Saturday at 7am (weather permitting) for 30+ miles. Frequent regroups, average pace around 16-18 mph. Route is always subject to change depending on rider concensus on the morning.
Hard rain cancels the ride, BUT we may go to Hellyer Velodrome for a track session. Meet at the back door of the shop at 7 am to roll at 7:15.
Here are a couple of typical ride routes, courtesy of Richard Parry's Strava feed. We almost always have an optional stop for coffee and breakfast at Chromatic Coffee on Stevens Creek at Lawrence.
Ride #1 - This is our most typical ride, covering 49 km (30.4 miles) with 442 meters (1450 ft) of climbing.
Ride route #2 is a little longer at 70.2 km (43.6 miles) and a little more rolling althougn similar elevation gain with 449 meters (1473 feet) of climbing. Not so steep though, which makes this route a good poor weather choice.
Join us for a friendly social/recovery ride. The Waffle ride starts at Everett Alvarez Jr Park in Santa Clara, and goes out to the San Tomas Aquino trail returning to San Jose via the Guadalupe trail. Twenty miles, flat, mostly on paved bike paths. Stop for breakfast and coffee near the shop. Meet across the street from the park to roll at 9:00 AM. Bring money for coffee and breakfast. Rain cancels ths ride.
